Washington Certificate of Dissolution of Domestic Partnership is a document that is required for two individuals in a domestic partnership to legally dissolve their relationship. This document is used to officially terminate the partnership and must be signed by both parties and notarized. The state of Washington recognizes two types of domestic partnerships: same-sex couples and opposite-sex couples who are not legally married. A Washington Certificate of Dissolution of Domestic Partnership is required for both types of domestic partnerships in order to officially dissolve the partnership. The certificate must include the names of both partners, the date of dissolution, the county in which the dissolution is taking place, the signature of both partners, and the signature of a notary public. After the certificate is completed and notarized, it must be filed with the Secretary of State in Washington. Once the certificate is filed, the domestic partnership is officially dissolved.
