The Washington Notice of Guardian's Intent to Resign and Petition to Appoint Successor Guardian (NTP ASG) is a legal document used in Washington to notify the court that a current guardian of a person or estate intends to resign and appoint a successor guardian. It is issued by the current guardian and must be filed with the court in the county where the guardianship was established. The NTP ASG includes information such as the current guardian's name, contact information, and the county where the guardianship was established; the name of the ward, date of birth, and the county where the ward resides; the name of the proposed successor guardian; and a statement of the current guardian's intent to resign. There are two types of Washington Notice of Guardian's Intent to Resign and Petition to Appoint Successor Guardian (NTP ASG): the Notice of Intent to Resign and Petition to Appoint Successor Guardian (NTP ASG); and the Notice of Intent to Resign and Request to Appoint Successor Guardian (NTR ASG). The NTP ASG is used when the current guardian intends to resign and appoint a successor guardian, while the NTR ASG is used when the current guardian intends to resign but does not wish to appoint a specific successor guardian.
