Washington Order Closing Guardianship and Discharging Guardian (OR TGD, OPTIC) is a legal action taken by the court to terminate a guardianship and remove a guardian from their position. This order is used when a guardianship is no longer needed, or when the guardian is no longer able to fulfill their duties. There are two types of Washington Order Closing Guardianship and Discharging Guardian (OR TGD, OPTIC): the Order to Terminate Guardianship and Discharge Guardian (OR TGD), and the Order to Terminate Guardianship and Close Case (OPTIC). The Order to Terminate Guardianship and Discharge Guardian (OR TGD) is used when a guardian is no longer able to fulfill their duties, or when the guardianship is no longer needed. The Order to Terminate Guardianship and Close Case (OPTIC) is used when the guardianship is no longer needed, but the guardian is still able to fulfill their duties. Both orders will close the guardianship and remove the guardian from their position. The court may also require the guardian to provide an accounting of their activities during the guardianship and any funds they have received or disbursed.
