Washington Order On Review Hearing (At Risk Youth) is a process where an at-risk youth will appear before a judge to review the youth’s progress in an out-of-home placement. This hearing is held to determine if the youth should remain in the placement or be returned to the family home. The hearing is held in accordance with Washington State law and is designed to ensure that the youth is safe and their rights are being respected. There are two types of Washington Order On Review Hearing (At Risk Youth): the Judicial Review Hearing and the Review Hearing. The Judicial Review Hearing is held when a youth is placed in an out-of-home placement and the court must review the placement every six months. During this hearing, the court will review the youth’s progress in the placement and decide whether the youth should remain in the placement or be returned to the family home. The Review Hearing is held when a youth is returning to the family home from an out-of-home placement. During this hearing, the court will review the youth’s progress and decide if the youth is ready to return home.
