Washington Order Reinstating Parental Rights (OR RPR) is an order issued by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSS) to restore the rights of a parent who has had those rights taken away due to certain circumstances. This order can be issued when the parent has successfully completed the necessary requirements, such as parenting classes, counseling, or other services as recommended by DSS. There are two types of OR RPR: permanent orders and conditional orders. Permanent OR RPR will restore the rights of a parent permanently, while a conditional OR RPR will only restore the rights of a parent for a specified period of time. In either case, OR RPR allows the parent access to their child and the ability to make decisions regarding their child’s welfare.
