Washington Community Truancy Board Return of Case is an administrative process used by educational institutions in the state of Washington to address issues related to student truancy. The Washington Community Truancy Board Return of Case process is used as a proactive intervention to reduce truancy and improve school attendance and performance. The process begins when an educational institution identifies a student who is at risk of truancy, and the school contacts the Washington Community Truancy Board (CTB). The CTB then works with the student and the family to develop a Return of Case Plan, which outlines the steps that the student and family must take to improve school attendance and performance. The Return of Case Plan is customized to the individual student's needs and may include such components as academic tutoring, mentoring, family counseling, and/or community service. The CTB monitors the student's progress and provides support throughout the process. There are two types of Washington Community Truancy Board Return of Case: the Pre-Truancy Return of Case and the Truancy Return of Case. The Pre-Truancy Return of Case is for students who are at risk of truancy, while the Truancy Return of Case is for students who are already truant.
