Washington Order to Stay Truancy Proceedings and Referral is a court order which prohibits a school district from initiating or continuing student truancy proceedings and referral of a student to juvenile court. This order may be issued by a court upon request from a parent/guardian or student if the student is found to be in compliance with his/her compulsory attendance obligation. The order may also be issued by a court on its own motion if it appears the student is in compliance. The order may be issued for a period of up to one year. There are two types of Washington Order to Stay Truancy Proceedings and Referral: temporary and permanent.
