Washington Conditions of Release for Impaired Driving Offense is a set of restrictions that must be followed by a person who has been convicted of driving under the influence (DUI) in the state of Washington. These conditions may include, but are not limited to, installation of an ignition interlock device, participation in a drug/alcohol treatment program, attendance of a DUI Victim Impact Panel, completion of a safe driving course, and/or a probation period of up to one year. The specific conditions of release are determined by the court and may vary by case. The two main types of Washington Conditions of Release for Impaired Driving Offense are Standard and Enhanced. Standard Conditions are the basic requirements that all DUI offenders must follow, such as installing an ignition interlock device, attending DUI Victim Impact Panels, and enrolling in a safe driving course. Enhanced Conditions may be imposed on repeat offenders and/or those who have caused serious injury or property damage. These conditions may include mandatory participation in a drug/alcohol treatment program, a longer probation period, and/or additional community service.
