Washington Home Modification for Workers with Catastrophic Injuries is a program that provides financial assistance to individuals who have suffered an injury that has resulted in catastrophic impairment (such as a spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputation, or blindness). This program helps to make necessary home modifications to the home of the injured worker, such as widening doorways, installing wheelchair ramps, and modifying bathroom and kitchen areas. The program also covers the cost of appliances, furniture, and other related home modifications that are necessary for the injured worker to remain living independently in their home. There are two types of Washington Home Modification for Workers with Catastrophic Injuries: the Home Modification Grant Program and the Home Improvement Loan Program. The Home Modification Grant Program provides up to $10,000 for urgent home modifications, while the Home Improvement Loan Program offers up to $40,000 in loan funding for additional home modifications.
