Injured Workers: Leaving Washington, But Still Need Treatment is a program designed to support workers who are unable to receive treatment in Washington State due to injury or illness, and still need medical care. This program allows for injured workers to receive ongoing medical treatment outside the state of Washington, while still being eligible for workers’ compensation benefits. There are three types of Injured Workers: Leaving Washington, But Still Need Treatment programs: Temporary Total Disability (TTD), Permanent Partial Disability (PPD), and Permanent Total Disability (LTD). Temporary Total Disability programs provide temporary wage replacement and medical care while the worker is unable to work due to a work-related injury or illness. Permanent Partial Disability programs provide long-term wage replacement and medical care for workers who have suffered a permanent impairment, but are still able to work in some capacity. Permanent Total Disability programs provide complete wage replacement and medical care for workers who are permanently and totally disabled due to a work-related injury or illness.
