Washington Helping Providers Understand the Crime Victims Compensation Program is a training program designed to help health care providers, law enforcement, and other service providers understand how Washington State’s Crime Victims Compensation Program works. This program provides monetary compensation to victims of crime who suffer physical, emotional, or financial losses as a result of the crime. The program offers two types of trainings. The first is a four-hour in-person training that covers the basics of the program, including the eligibility criteria, how to file a claim, and how to appeal a claim. The second is a two-hour online course that covers the same topics as the in-person training but with more detail. Both courses provide participants with an overview of the program and how to apply for and receive compensation. They also provide information on how to access additional support and resources for victims of crime. The goal of the Washington Helping Providers Understand the Crime Victims Compensation Program is to ensure that service providers have the necessary information to help victims of crime receive the compensation they deserve.
