Washington Stop Illegal Contracting: See it? Report it. Is a campaign created by the Washington State Attorney General's Office to combat illegal contracting and worker misclassification in the state of Washington. The campaign aims to educate the public on the various types of illegal contracting and worker misclassification, and encourages them to report any instances they see or know of. The campaign focuses on the five main types of illegal contracting and worker misclassification: paying employees as independent contractors; not paying employees minimum wage; not providing employees with overtime pay; not providing employees with meal and rest breaks; and misclassifying employees as exempt from overtime pay. The campaign also provides education on the legal rights of employees, and encourages employers to ensure that all of their employees are legally classified. The campaign provides information on how to report instances of illegal contracting or worker misclassification, and encourages the public to help protect their communities by reporting any instances they see or know of.
