Washington Helps for Injured Workers of Self-Insured Employers is a program designed to provide financial assistance to injured workers of self-insured employers in Washington State. The program provides medical and disability benefits, as well as vocational rehabilitation and other services, to help injured workers return to work and to maintain their quality of life. The program is administered by the Department of Labor & Industries and funded through assessments on self-insured employers. The program includes three distinct components: 1. Medical Benefits: This component covers reasonable and necessary medical expenses for treating work-related injuries and illnesses, including medical care, prescriptions, hospitalization, assistive devices, and travel expenses. 2. Disability Benefits: This component provides benefits for workers who are unable to work due to their injury or illness. Benefits include wage replacement, job retraining, and other support services. 3. Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits: This component provides benefits to help injured workers return to work or to find suitable alternative employment. It includes job search assistance, job placement services, and retraining. The program is available to all self-insured employers in Washington State.
