Washington Out of State Application for Electrician Examination is an application that must be completed by electricians who are licensed in another state or jurisdiction, but wish to obtain a Washington State electrician certificate. This application is meant to help verify the applicant’s qualifications and experience in the electrical trade. Depending on the applicant’s qualifications, there are two types of Washington Out of State Application for Electrician Examination: the Limited Electrician Certificate of Competency and the Full Electrician Certificate of Competency. The Limited Electrician Certificate of Competency requires only two years of electrical experience and allows the applicant to perform electrical work limited to residential, small commercial, and farm equipment installations. The Full Electrician Certificate of Competency requires four years of electrical experience and allows the applicant to perform all aspects of the electrical trade. Both applications require the submission of an application form, a certificate of competency, supporting documents, and fees.
