Washington Safety Standards for WAC 296-32, Telecommunications, are rules and regulations that protect workers from potential hazards associated with their occupation. These standards cover electrical safety, ladder safety, fall protection, and personal protective equipment (PPE). The standards provide guidance on electrical safety issues such as the proper installation and use of electrical equipment, the proper grounding and bonding of equipment, and the safe handling of hazardous materials. They also require employers to provide ladders and other safety equipment to protect workers from falls and other injuries. Additionally, they require employers to provide workers with PPE such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and face shields. The standards also address hearing protection, workplace lighting, and hazardous communication. These standards are enforced by the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I).
