Washington Shop and Field Inspection Reports are documents prepared by Washington State Department of Agriculture (USDA) inspectors to document their findings when conducting inspections of food processing and handling facilities, specialty food processors, and fresh produce operations in the state. These inspection reports are used to ensure compliance with applicable food safety regulations and to identify and address potential food safety risks. There are two main types of Washington Shop and Field Inspection Reports: the Retail Food Establishment Inspection Report and the Specialty Food Processor/Produce Operation Inspection Report. The Retail Food Establishment Inspection Report is used to document the inspection of restaurants, delis, bakeries, and other similar food service establishments. It includes information on the inspection date, the type of establishment and whether it is a licensed or unlicensed operation, the number and type of violations found, and any corrective actions taken. The Specialty Food Processor/Produce Operation Inspection Report is used to document the inspection of food processing facilities, including manufacturers of specialty foods and processors of fresh produce. It includes information on the type of processor/producer, the number and type of violations found, and any corrective actions taken. Both types of reports are used to ensure the safety of the food supply in Washington State.
