The Wisconsin Citizen Participation Plan (CFP) is a program developed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to provide public involvement in the management of the state’s natural resourcesCFPFP is designed to ensure that citizens have an opportunity to participate in the decision-making process related to land and water management, and to receive information about these issues. The program includes public meetings, workshops, and other educational events to provide citizens with the opportunity to learn about and provide input on natural resource management issues. The Wisconsin Citizen Participation Plan is divided into two primary types of activities: Local Citizen Involvement and State Citizen Involvement. Local Citizen Involvement activities are designed to provide local citizens with an opportunity to participate in the decision-making process related to land and water management in their own community. These activities include public meetings, workshops, and other educational events. State Citizen Involvement activities are designed to provide citizens with the opportunity to participate in the decision-making process related to statewide natural resource management issues. These activities include public hearings, informational meetings, and other educational events. The CFP also provides citizens with information and resources related to natural resource management, such as a Citizen Participation Handbook, a Citizen Participation Toolkit, and other informational materials.
