Wisconsin Articles of Correction (also known as Wisconsin Corrections) is a legal document that is issued by a Wisconsin court to modify or revoke a criminal sentence. The Wisconsin Articles of Correction are used to provide relief to individuals convicted of a crime in Wisconsin who have completed all or part of their sentence, or who have been discharged from probation or parole. The Wisconsin Articles of Correction can be used to reduce a sentence, modify the conditions of parole or probation, or to restore a person's civil rights such as the right to vote. The two primary types of Wisconsin Articles of Correction are the “Motion to Modify” and the “Motion to Vacate.” The Motion to Modify is used to modify an existing sentence or to reduce the severity of a sentence, while the Motion to Vacate is used to set aside a conviction entirely.
