Wisconsin Notice and Request for Trial Reunification, Extension of Trial Reunification or Revocation of Trial Reunification is a process by which the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) can provide notice to the family of a child who has been removed from home due to safety concerns. The process involves providing notice to the family of the child’s rights and the process of reunification, extending the trial reunification, or revoking the trial reunification. The Wisconsin Notice and Request for Trial Reunification is the first step in the reunification process. It is provided to the family when the child is first removed from the home and informs them of their rights and the process for reunification. The Extension of Trial Reunification is the second step in the reunification process and is provided when the family is making progress towards reunification, but more time is needed to reach that goal. The Revocation of Trial Reunification is the final step in the reunification process and is provided when the family is not making satisfactory progress towards reunification. This notice may result in the child remaining in the care of the DCF, being placed in another home, or being placed in a more permanent placement such as a foster home.
