Wisconsin Injunction (Domestic Abuse) is a court order that can be used to protect victims of domestic violence in the state of Wisconsin. It can provide temporary or permanent protection from physical, emotional, or financial harm caused by an abuser. The Injunction will generally include a no-contact order, which prohibits the abuser from having contact or communication with the victim, as well as other types of relief, such as orders staying away from the victim's home and place of work, and prohibitions against entering certain locations. There are two types of Wisconsin Injunctions (Domestic Abuse): Temporary Injunction and Permanent Injunction. A Temporary Injunction is a short-term order that is only effective until the court can hear arguments from both parties. This type of Injunction will typically last no more than six months. A Permanent Injunction is a long-term order that can last indefinitely. This type of Injunction can be requested when the court believes that the abuser will continue to be a threat to the victim's safety if the order is not in place.
