Injunction (Individual at Risk)
Wisconsin Injunction (Individual at Risk) is a court-ordered protection from violence or harassment. It is also known as an individual at risk restraining order, individual at risk injunction, or individual at risk order. It is designed to protect a person who is at risk of being victimized, threatened, or assaulted by another person. Furthermore, it can be used to protect victims of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, sexual assault, human trafficking, or other forms of violence or intimidation. Wisconsin Injunction (Individual at Risk) orders can include provisions such as ordering the respondent to stay away from, have no contact with, or not harass the petitioner, or to stay away from the petitioner’s residence, workplace, school, or other locations. The order can also prohibit the respondent from possessing firearms or other weapons, and prohibit the respondent from entering the petitioner’s residence or vehicle. Types of Wisconsin Injunction (Individual at Risk) include emergency injunctions, temporary injunctions, and permanent injunctions. Emergency injunctions are issued without notice to the respondent, and are only valid for 14 days. Temporary injunctions are issued after a hearing with both parties present, and are valid for up to one year. Permanent injunctions are also issued after a hearing and can be in effect for up to three years.
