The Wisconsin Order Concerning Return of Firearms is a court order mandating the return of firearms to a person or persons granted possession of those firearms by a court. This order is issued by a Wisconsin court when a person is found to be in possession of a firearm without having the legal authority to possess it. It can also be issued in cases where the court has determined the gun should be returned to the person it was taken from due to a criminal conviction or other legal action. There are two main types of Wisconsin Order Concerning Return of Firearms: (1) a Temporary Order of Return, which is issued when the court finds that the gun should be returned to the original owner until further court proceedings; and (2) a Permanent Order of Return, which is issued when the court finds that the gun should be returned to the original owner in a permanent manner.
