A West Virginia Abstract of Execution is a legal document that is used to record and certify the collection of a debt or judgment that was granted to a creditor from a debtor in the state of West Virginia. The Abstract of Execution is issued by the sheriff in the county in which the debtor resides and includes vital information such as the names of the parties involved, the amount of the debt, and other details of the execution. There are two types of West Virginia Abstract of Execution: the Abstract of Execution of Judgment and the Abstract of Execution for Debts. The Abstract of Execution of Judgment is issued when a court grants a money judgment in favor of a creditor against a debtor. The Abstract of Execution for Debts is issued when a debt is collected by a sheriff on behalf of a creditor. Both types of Abstracts of Execution include the date of execution, the amount of the debt, and the name of the debtor and creditor.
