Foreign Articles of Correction are used to correct errors in the formation of a foreign business entity, such as a corporation, limited liability company, or limited partnership, that is registered to conduct business in West Virginia. Both Domestic and Foreign Articles of Correction can be used to amend or replace an existing business entity's name, address, type of entity, and/or registered agent. These documents must be filed with the West Virginia Secretary of State’s office in order to be effective.
