The West Virginia Young Entrepreneurs Act Filing Fee Waiver Request (effective 7/1/2016) is a program offered by the West Virginia Secretary of State that waives certain filing fees for new businesses started by individuals under the age of 30. This program allows young entrepreneurs to save money on filing fees when starting a business in West Virginia. There are two types of West Virginia Young Entrepreneurs Act Filing Fee Waiver Request (effective 7/1/2016): The first is the “Limited Liability Company Waiver,” which waives the filing fee for the Articles of Organization for a new Limited Liability Company (LLC). The second is the “Corporation Waiver,” which waives the filing fee for the Articles of Incorporation for a new corporation. In order to qualify for the West Virginia Young Entrepreneurs Act Filing Fee Waiver Request (effective 7/1/2016), the applicant must be under the age of 30 at the time of filing, must reside in West Virginia, and must submit a completed application form to the West Virginia Secretary of State. Once the application is approved, the filing fee will be waived and the new business can be registered with the State of West Virginia.
