Wyoming General Sampling Guidelines-UPDATED are a set of recommended practices developed by the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality to ensure the most effective and accurate data collection when sampling environmental media (e.g. soil, air, and water). The guidelines cover sampling design, sampling techniques, sample collection, sample handling, sample storage, and other related topics. There are two types of Wyoming General Sampling Guidelines-UPDATED: field sampling and laboratory sampling. Field sampling includes the selection of sampling sites, collection of samples, and field measurements, while laboratory sampling includes sample preparation, sample analysis, and data interpretation. The guidelines also provide information on quality assurance/quality control, safety, and disposal of materials. The updated version of the guidelines includes additional information on sample preservation, sampling considerations, and sample chain of custody.
