Wyoming Sexual Assault Order of Protection is a court-issued order meant to protect victims of sexual assault from further abuse, harassment, and contact from the perpetrator. The order can include any combination of conditions that are necessary to protect the victim, such as prohibiting contact, restricting certain activities, and prohibiting the perpetrator from having any weapons. There are two types of Wyoming Sexual Assault Order of Protection: an Emergency Order and a Final Order. An Emergency Order is issued without the perpetrator present and is immediately effective. It is meant to protect the victim until the Final Order is issued. A Final Order is issued after a hearing, and it can be temporary or permanent. Both orders require the perpetrator to stay away from the victim, but the Final Order may also include other provisions to protect the victim.
