A Wyoming Stalking Order of Protection is a legal document issued by a court that orders a person to stop stalking or harassing another person. The order is issued to an alleged stalker or harasser to prevent further acts of harassment or stalking. It can also provide protection to victims from possible harm. The order may include provisions that require the alleged stalker or harasser to stay away from the victim, have no contact of any kind, and/or to give up any items related to the case, such as guns, knives, or items of clothing. There are two types of Wyoming Stalking Order of Protection: Temporary and Permanent. A Temporary Stalking Order of Protection lasts for a period of time that is specified by the court and can be extended by the court upon request of the victim. A Permanent Stalking Order of Protection is issued after a hearing in which evidence is presented to the court. It can last up to five years and can be extended at the court’s discretion.
