A Wyoming Ex Parte Domestic Violence Order of Protection (also known as an Ex Parte Order of Protection) is a court order issued in Wyoming that is issued without prior notice to the respondent. It is a temporary order that requires the respondent to take certain actions in order to protect the petitioner from domestic violence or abuse. The Ex Parte Order of Protection can include provisions such as prohibiting the respondent from contacting, harassing, or stalking the petitioner, and prohibiting the respondent from possessing firearms or other dangerous weapons. There are two types of Wyoming Ex Parte Domestic Violence Order of Protection: an Emergency Ex Parte Order of Protection and an Extended Ex Parte Order of Protection. An Emergency Ex Parte Order of Protection is issued when immediate protection is needed and is typically valid for up to five days. An Extended Ex Parte Order of Protection is issued when immediate protection is needed and is typically valid for up to 30 days.
