A Wyoming Ex Parte Sexual Assault Order of Protection is a court order issued by a judge without a hearing or notice to the accused person. It can be issued at the request of the alleged victim to protect them from further harm. There are two types of ex parte orders: a Temporary Ex Parte Order and a Final Ex Parte Order. A Temporary Ex Parte Order is issued when the court finds there is an immediate need for protection. It can last up to 20 days, or until a hearing is held. It may include such restrictive measures as ordering the accused person to stay away from the victim, their home, workplace, and/or school and to refrain from further contact with the victim. A Final Ex Parte Order is issued after a hearing has been held. It can last up to two years. It may include the same measures as the Temporary Ex Parte Order, as well as further orders such as requiring the accused person to attend counseling, abstain from drugs or alcohol, or surrender any firearms.
