Shuttle Service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Shuttles run approximately every 10-15 minutes, except between the hours of a.m. and a.m. when service operates every 25 minutes. At the MARC/Amtrak station, shuttles stop adjacent to the rail station garage, directly across from the rail station.

MARC uses a combination of high platforms and low platforms, with their cars optimized for high platforms. VRE runs cars that can only use low platforms. Unfortunately, just replacing all of the railcars in one of the two fleets would simply create another problem: inefficient boarding.

Each train has at least one restroom in the last car of the train (the car furthest from the locomotive).

MARC is an easy and efficient way to travel between Baltimore and DC. Many use the Penn Line for transport to and from BWI airport. Trains depart from Union Station and make 4 additional stops before arriving at BWI. The total length of the journey from DC to BWI is approximately 35 minutes.

MARC provides service between Union Station in Washington, DC and stations in Maryland, along three lines, the Penn, Camden, and Brunswick lines. All three lines operate Monday through Friday, the Penn Line also provides service on weekends.
