Alter Footnote Record For Free

Remove or change a footnote or endnote separator The Footnotes pane appears at the bottom of your document. You can edit the color or style of the separator by choosing options on the Home tab, or, to delete the separators, click Footnote Separator in the Footnotes list, and then select and delete the separator line.

To Modify the footnote Style;Right mouse click the Footnote Text style 0192Choose Update Footnote Text to Match Selection from the list. The style will change and become the default but only in this document. Any existing and new footnotes will have this style as well.Apr 14, 2020

To change the formatting of the footnote numbers, select the Footnotes Reference Style. If you want to change the formatting of the footnote text at the bottom of the page, select the Footnote Text Style. Click Modify, and then change the formatting options (font, size, and so on).

To update an individual reference, click on it and press F9 or right-click and select Update Field. To update all references in a document, select Edit Select All (or press Ctrl A), then press F9 or right-click and select Update Field. You can set Word to always update cross-references before printing your document.

Word doesn't renumber the footnotes because the footnote is still therealbeit marked for deletion. When the changes are accepted or rejected, then Word will renumber the footnotes accordingly.
