Alter Highlight Settlement For Free

Right next to water, food is essential for a settlement. The usual method of generating food is planting crops using the crafting interface. To do so, just pick any of the food plants from the resources menu and plant them in the dirt (open ground).

80% is the default maximum for settlements. Once you add shops will it climb further. Also junk yard dogs add not only defence, but make settlements happier. The dogs will attack opponents, and because they're not tall work well in combination with turrets and armed settlers.

Build 15-20 Level 3 Shops; Traders, Clinics, Restaurants and Clothing stores improve happiness. Make sure to assign settlers to run the stores. Clinics improve happiness the fastest. Building 20+ Surgery Centers will quickly increase happiness.

Fallout 4 - 100% Settlement Happiness clear out a settlement. Send a settler from another settlement there. Build them a bed with a roof. give them a bunch of food and water in the workshop. Build a lvl 2 bar and assign them to it.

A settlement is no good if enemies can waltz right in. Set up a perimeter for your settlement with the fence items. Make sure to include a gate for settlers to get in and out. With that set, start placing defense items like the Guard Tower or a Machinegun Turret to increase your Defense stat.

Keep your stockpiles of resources as high as possible. This might seem obvious since it's the crux of the gameplay in Fallout Shelter, but Dwellers are happiest when they don't have to worry about running out of the essentials. Keep Power, Food and Water in the green and your Happiness levels will benefit.

The highlighting is part of the Scrapper perk, so there is no way to get rid of it once you have the perk.
