Annotate Footer Release For Free

An annotated footnote appears at the bottom of a page, in the footer or two double-spaces below your text. It provides your readers with additional information that cannot be properly included in your text.

In both MLA and APA, a footnote example includes the citation found at the bottom, or foot, of the page corresponding to the superscript number found in the body of the work. The footnote might consist of the type of work and author's name along with other information related to the type of citation.

Click Insert 2192 Reference 2192 Footnote... to open the "Footnote and Endnote" window. Select "Footnote", and then choose your numbering option. You can have Word number your footnotes automatically, or you can choose a custom symbol to insert.

Footnote or endnote numbers in the text should follow punctuation, and preferably be placed at the end of a sentence.

The footnote number is placed immediately after the word to which the footnote citation refers. If the footnote citation refers to a paragraph, then place the footnote number immediately after the final punctuation mark.

In a footnote referencing system, you indicate a reference by: Putting a small number above the line of type directly following the source material. This number is called a note identifier. It sits slightly above the line of text.

To annotate an entire document, choose Annotate document from the Tools/Annotations menu. To annotate a position, put the insertion point at that position in the document and choose Annotate selection from the Tools/Annotations menu.
