The preliminary pages with the exception of the Title page use lowercase Roman numerals, which are centered and at least ½ from the bottom of the page (in the footer). The text and supplementary pages uses Arabic numerals for page numbering and start with the page number 1.

Word can sort alphabetically, as well as numerically and by date. If you format your list into a bullet or numerical list prior to the sort, Word will sort the data and retain the list format. Word can also sort data in tables, with the flexibility to choose the column of data on which to base the sort.

Click anywhere in the table, then move the pointer over the letter above the column by which you want to sort. Click the arrow that appears next to the column letter, then choose a sorting option: Sort Ascending: Sort the data in alphabetical order (A to Z) or by increasing numerical values.

Select the table, click or tap the Organize button , then click or tap Categories. Click or tap Add a Category, then choose a column for the new subcategory you want to create. You can reorganize categories and subcategories in a table after you've added them.
