Arrange Number Text For Free

To place numbers in order, we need to compare them to one another. If we are ordering our numbers in ascending order, we need to write our smaller numbers before our bigger numbers. If we are ordering our numbers in descending order, we need to write our larger numbers before our smaller numbers.

Create a sorting ruleSelect a table to sort, or select just specific rows in a column to sort.Tap. , tap the Sort tab, then tap Entire Table or Selected Rows.Tap Add a Column, then tap a column to sort by.To add more rules, tap Add a Column.To reorder the rules, tap Edit above the list of rules, then drag.Tap Done.

Select a blank cell beside the numbers with letter prefix or suffix, says Cell B2, type the formula =EXTRACTNUMBERS(A2,TRUE) (A2 is the cell of number with letter prefix or suffix) into it, and then drag this cell's AutoFill Handle to the range as you need. See screenshot: 2.

To put numbers in order, place them from lowest (first) to highest (last). This is called "Ascending Order". Think of ascending a mountain.
