Question: Q: name to appear in text messagesThis is probably because your contacts did not sync over. Go to Settings>Tap your name at the top>iCloud>Toggle on Contacts. You may have to plug your phone in and keep it locked.

Tap the three dots icon next to the compose icon then tap on your name or photo to edit. Once your name and photo are set, you can enable or disable the Share Name and Photo slider bar and choose whether or not to automatically share your name and photo with Anyone, Contacts Only, or Always Ask.
