A very important use of photographs as evidence, and probably the most common one, is the use as explanatory or illustrative evidence, and their purpose is to enable the jury to better understand the testimony of the witnesses.

The Image Rights or Use of Likeness clause of an employment agreement stipulates how one party can use the image, name, signature, and other identifying features of the hired party. Some states also recognize a common-law Right of Publicity, an off-shoot of the Right to Privacy.

The basics. Photographs, illustrations and other images will generally be protected by copyright as artistic works. This means that a user will usually need the permission of the copyright owner(s) if they want to perform certain acts, such as copying the image or sharing it on the internet.

In the U.S., as in most countries, images are protected by copyright law and international copyright agreements.Unless you own the copyright to an image or have a license from the owner, printing a copy of an image or posting it online without permission is a violation of copyright.

Qualifications for an e-signature to be legally binding. As you can tell by now, not every electronic signature will be found to be legally binding.
