Admissions officials at Bates College consider a student's GPA a very important academic factor. An applicant's high school class rank, when available, is considered very important and letters of recommendation are considered very important for admissions officials at Bates College.

First & Second Year Student Parking First & second-year students will only be issued permits that reflect their class and will not have an on-campus permit option. These permits cannot be changed/upgraded midyear due to earned credits changing their student classification.

Undergraduate parking is very limited. Freshman and Sophomore class are not eligible for a parking permit. Graduate Students may apply for a parking permit through Agora Portal.

+Pets. A pet is any animal kept for ordinary use and companionship. As described in the Bates College Residence and Dining Regulations, small fish are the only pets allowed in residence halls. Assistance animals are not considered pets.
