When you block emails, you are creating a filter in the email app that sends all messages from that email address to a spam or junk folder. You'll still receive messages from blocked senders in your mailbox. However, the message sender is never notified that they've been blocked and that you don't read their email.

When you block a sender, messages they send you will go to your Spam folder.

Next, you could try calling the person. If the call goes right to voicemail or rings once (or a half ring) then goes to voicemail, that's further evidence you may have been blocked. Hang up, and then call again, but this time dialing 67 before you type in the phone number.

Does a blocked sender know they are blocked? No, they won't know if you have blocked them. They won't receive a notification you have filtered their messages from your inbox. Their emails simply go straight to spam if they try to send you anything.
