You can block an invoice manually . You have two options for doing this when you enter the invoice: You can block an invoice by entering an R in the field Payment block in the document header data. You can block an item by selecting the Ma (manual blocking reason) field in the item list.

The use of the payment block A to automatically set Down Payments blocked for payment. When posting a down payment, SAP system define the block A for that sub-ledger line items to avoid Automatic Payment Process to clear this open item with other offsetting open items.

If you set a payment block to stop a vendor from being paid, you can still post to the vendor account (for example, at goods receipt). Blocked Invoices means invoices that have been submitted by Supplier and received by Buyer that contain inaccurate pricing information, resulting in the inability of Buyer's Accounts Payable to effect payment.
