Who did the FCC identify as responsible for the robocalls? The FCC named Roy Cox Jr, Aaron Michael Jones, their Sumco Panama companies, and international associates as the operatives behind upwards of 8 billion auto warranty robocalls since 2018.

In the US, unwanted texts and internet scams can be reported to the Federal Trade Commission via the National Do Not Call Registry. You can also add your number to their Do Not Text list, which unsubscribes you from known spammers by banning them from targeting you.

If you have an iPhone, Apple does have a feature known as Silence Unknown Callers, with iOS 13 and later, go to settings, click on phone, and then scroll down to silence unknown callers and turn it on. Calls from unknown numbers are silenced and sent to your voicemail, and appear in your recent calls list.

You can add your name to the National Do Not Call list, but that generally only stops telemarketers from calling you. The best way to avoid extended warranty scam calls is by hanging up the phone immediately and blocking the phone number.

Block numbers that keep calling you. If you think that you may be talking to a legitimate dealership, ask for their information and then hang up and call them back directly. Report the robocall to the Federal Trade Commission's National Do Not Call Registry.

If you do find yourself on the phone with a fraudulent company, do these and you likely won't hear from the warranty provider again: Say that you already purchased a policy. Ask to be put on the Do No Call List. Block the caller.

If you have an iPhone: Go to ?Settings? and ?Silence unknown callers?. You may still get a voicemail from these callers, but this will make any call from an unknown number go straight to voicemail. If you have an Android: Go to your settings and click on ?Block numbers?. From there you can block all unknown callers.

Visit DoNotCall.gov or call 1-888-382-1222 to verify the status of, or unsubscribe, your phone number on the registry.

You can find the National Do Not Call Registry on the web at DoNotCall.gov. This will help you should you continue to receive unwelcome phone calls not only from auto warranty companies, but other telephone solicitors as well.

To cancel your extended car warranty, you will need to fill out a form specifying your mileage and the cancellation date, and then you will need to get a signed copy of the form from the dealership. You will probably need to nudge them to process the request, so don't be afraid to call every couple of weeks.
