Change Footnote Permit For Free

To change the formatting of the footnote numbers, select the Footnotes Reference Style. If you want to change the formatting of the footnote text at the bottom of the page, select the Footnote Text Style. Click Modify, and then change the formatting options (font, size, and so on).

Please try clicking on the Review tab of the Ribbon, then on the Accept icon and choosing Accept All Changes in Document. On the same tab make sure Track Changes is switched to OFF. If there are any comments, right-click on each one and choose Delete. Then your footnotes should update correctly.

Remove or change a footnote or endnote separator The Footnotes pane appears at the bottom of your document. You can edit the color or style of the separator by choosing options on the Home tab, or, to delete the separators, click Footnote Separator in the Footnotes list, and then select and delete the separator line.

Once you're in Draft view, go to the References tab then click Show Notes. Change the Footnotes setting from All Footnotes to Footnote Separator. Place your cursor at the end of separator line, then press Delete to remove the empty paragraph below. Click the X at the far right of the Footnotes mini window to close it.

Renumbering Existing FootnotesMake sure that Track Changes is not in use.Go to Insert> Footnote.Confirm that the Footnote option is selected.From the Number choices select Continuous.Confirm that Apply changes to specifies Whole document.Be sure to click Apply rather than Insert to close the dialog window.

Make sure the Footnotes radio button is selected. Change the Start At value to reflect where you want Word to start numbering. Change the Numbering area to reflect how you want Word to count your footnotes. Click on Apply and then Cancel; otherwise click Insert to add a footnote mark at the current document location.
