Linked titles are automatically updated in the chart when you change the corresponding text on the worksheet. To quickly identify a data series in a chart, you can add data labels to the data points of the chart.

You might try to recreate the chart. You might even try a different chart type, but it just won't matter.If there's a value in the upper-left corner of the data set (A1 in this case), Excel fails to chart the data correctly.
