Chart Text Deed For Free

Go to tab "Home" on the ribbon if you are not already there. The font and font size drop-down lists allow you to pick a font and size for your data labels, the "fill color" button lets you choose a background color and the "Font color" button lets you change the font color of the data labels.

Chart title identifies the graph to the operator and is displayed at the top of the graph the chart title is also included when the graph is printed or saved.

Linking a Cell Value to the Chart TitleClick on the Chart Title box.Go to Formula bar and type =Select the cell that you want to show as the chart title.Hit Enter.

Click anywhere in the chart to which you want to add a title. This displays the Chart Tools, adding the Design, Layout, and Format tabs. On the Layout tab, in the Labels group, click Chart Title. Click Centered Overlay Title or Above Chart.

To format data labels, select your chart, and then in the Chart Design tab, click Add Chart Element > Data Labels > More Data Label Options. Click Label Options and under Label Contains, pick the options you want. To make data labels easier to read, you can move them inside the data points or even outside of the chart.

You can't use formula in chart title, but you can link it with a cell having a formula. If you want to enter a line break in chart title you can create that line break in the cell you are linking to.

In the worksheet, click the cell that contains the title or data label text that you want to change. Edit the existing contents, or type the new text or value, and then press ENTER. The changes you made automatically appear on the chart.
