In many cases, the best resolution for printing is 300 PPI. At 300 pixels per inch (which roughly translates to 300 DPI, or dots per inch, on a printing press), an image will appear sharp and crisp. These are considered to be high resolution, or high-res, images.

It's usually at one of the corners of the camera screen. A list of settings will appear. Find and select Image properties or Image quality. This may also be called Picture size or Image resolution.

Right-click on the image and then select "Properties." A window will appear with the image's details. Go to the "Details" tab to see the image's dimensions and resolution.

Here's how you convert to 300 dpiClick File > Open > Choose your file. Next, click Image > Image Size, set the resolution to 300 if it is less than 300. Click resample, and choose Preserve Details (enlargement) on the drop-down menu. Then click OK.

Step one: When you find your image, don't open it. Instead, right click on the photo and select Properties. Step two: Once you're in Properties, click on the Details tab. Step three: Scroll until you see the resolution or dpi of your picture.

Hi-res images are at least 300 pixels per inch (ppi). This resolution makes for good print quality, and is pretty much a requirement for anything that you want hard copies of, especially to represent your brand or other important printed materials.

The JPEG image files have the same (high) pixel resolution and (low) data compression. If opened in software package such as Photoshop, both JPEG image files would open up to the full 39.7Mb files, with no compression.

The resolution refers to the number of pixels (dots) per inch (DPI). For example, if an image contains 800-by-600 pixels and has a size of 4-by-3 inches, then the resolution is 800 pixel / 4 inches = 200 DPI.

Right-click on the image file and click Properties at the bottom of the menu. In the Properties menu, click the Details tab. Scroll down to the Image section of the menu, you'll see two values that give you your image's DPI: Horizontal Resolution and Vertical Resolution.
