The US Postal Service offers a free service named Informed Delivery. It's an online dashboard that automatically informs you about mail and packages being sent to your address, and it also provides email notifications.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) offers a tracking service that allows people to get updates on their mail as it travels through the system to its final destination. With a tracking number, a customer can see whether the mail is still in transit, out for delivery or has been delivered.

Only mail processed on USPS® automated equipment is included in the Informed Delivery notification. Not all mail (e.g., magazines and catalogues) is processed this way, so they cannot appear in the Informed Delivery notification.

You won't get more than one update per day. Updates come in to your email inbox, and you can also log into your dashboard whenever you need to. This will let you see the day's update, but you should not expect this to change at other times of the day; the scanned documents should only be updated once.

In order for an address to be recognized by the USPS, it must match a corresponding address within the official USPS database which you are able to access by visiting USPS APIs. This address is set up, monitored, and cleaned out (or added to) by the US government on a regular basis.

Informed Delivery will send you updates once per day, usually before 9 a.m. It updates every day that you have mail due, but will not update if there is no mail to be delivered, or on Sundays and federal holidays (when there is no mail).
