Completing your tax return Enter the basic personal amount on line 30000 of your return. If your net income at line 23600 of your return is $155,625 or less, enter $14,398 on line 30000. If your net income is $221,708 or more, enter $12,719.

Benefit repayments on your T4A Enter on line 23210 the amount repaid in 2021 of a federal COVID-19 benefit received in 2020. Enter on line 23200 the amount repaid in 2021 of provincial or territorial COVID-19 benefits received in 2020.

You can claim the spouse or common-law amount if you supported your spouse or common-law partner at any time during the year and their net income was less than their basic personal amount ($14,398 in 2022).

Claiming the Canada caregiver amount for spouse or common-law partner, or eligible dependant age 18 or older. You may be entitled to claim an amount of $2,350 in the calculation of line 30300 if your spouse or common-law partner has an impairment in physical or mental functions.

Who is eligible for this credit? You may be eligible to claim this credit if you are providing support for one or more of the following people, because they have a physical or mental impairment: dependant spouse or common-law partner, your or your spouse's or common-law partner's child or grandchild.

You may be able to claim the amount for an eligible dependant if, at any time in the year, you supported an eligible dependant and met certain conditions. You cannot claim this amount if you claimed an amount for the year on line 30300 of your return.

Line 23600 is your total calculated net income. This line is not shown on your T4 but it includes your Employment income from box 14 seen on line 10100 in your Detailed Tax Summary.
