You hide the field, by opening its property dialog, go to the General tab, and then change "visible" to "hidden" in the field property dropdown. That should do it. If you want to be double sure, make the field read-only as well.

You have to implement two methods for hiding. display: none works for FF, but not Chrome or IE. So the second method is wrapping the <option> in a <span> with display: none . FF won't do it (technically invalid HTML, per the spec) but Chrome and IE will and it will hide the option.

The HTML <input type=hidden> is used to define a input Hidden field. A hidden field also includes those data that could not be seen or modified by the users when submitted the form. A hidden field only stores those database records that need to be updated when submitting the form.

If you are not in the form editing mode, choose Tools > Prepare Form. In the right hand pane under Fields or the page view, select the form fields that you want to delete. Right-click and choose Delete, or choose Edit > Delete.
