Encryption is used to protect data from being stolen, changed, or compromised and works by scrambling data into a secret code that can only be unlocked with a unique digital key.

Recipient public keys can be passed around as command line flags and in config files, while secret keys should be stored in dedicated files, through secret management systems, or as environment variables. There is no default path for age keys. Instead, they should be stored at application-specific paths.

In Age, a 128 bit master key, called file key, is used, from which all further keys for authentication of the header and encryption of the plaintext are derived. The user has no control over the file key used, instead it is selected randomly in the process of creating the Age-file.

Age is a simple, modern and secure file encryption tool, format, and Go library. It features small explicit keys, no config options, and UNIX-style composability.

Age being a command line encryption tool allows a user to encrypt arbitrary files for one or multiple parties, called recipients. Each recipient is then able to decrypt the file to get access to the original plaintext. Each Age-file has a header, storing data for the selected recipients.

File encryption transforms data into code that only intended recipients can decipher, preventing unauthorized users from being able to access, view, and understand sensitive information.

Age distribution, also called Age Composition, in population studies, the proportionate numbers of persons in successive age categories in a given population.

For example, if we have 5 people aged 20, 35, 15, 5, and 60, mean age is 125/5 = 25. However, had they been aged 80, 5, 30, 7, and 3, the mean age would still be 25, even if the age distribution would look very different from the previous one.

Corrected age, or adjusted age, is your premature baby's chronological age minus the number of weeks or months early they were born. For example, a 1-year-old who was born 3 months early would have a corrected age of 9 months.

To calculate the completed age, determine how many full years have passed since your birth date. To compute the running age, simply add one to the completed age.
